LGBTQ Leadership Institute 2020: Kaitlyn Munro

She is currently a Chess teacher with Youth Enrichment League for K-5 students, and a self-employed licensed massage therapist. She has applied to the ISU Transformative School Leadership Program for their 2020 Fall semester, to help reform educational programming and requirements, to help both the staff and students of our public schools.

As a member of the OneIowa LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute, Kaitlyn hopes to become a more confident advocate for LGBTQ youth, a friend and educator for parents of LGBTQ+ students, and a better ally to POC.

Kaitlyn enjoys painting, tap dancing, starting hundreds of projects she will never finish, wildcrafting and propagating interesting plants, collecting books, and planting trees with her partner. She also enjoys snuggling with her fur babies, and reconnecting with her three bonus children over their summer stay–
