LGBTQ Leadership Institute 2020: Austin Berger

Austin (he/him/his) is a proud Des Moines resident originally from Waverly, Iowa. Since a young age, he identified his strengths as a numbers guy and utilizes those talents as an Accountant for two large manufacturing companies. Austin bleeds black and yellow as an alumni from the University of Iowa with a degree in Accounting. Utilizing his education, Austin identified a need for start-up businesses and created a company called Profit Professionals. There he implements accounting procedures for their payroll, tax regulations, and income taxes.

In his spare time, Austin puts his creative skills to the test being a young professional who enjoys flipping real estate. He is always on the go locally or traveling the world. His love for his feline child, Sir Tucker, and his seven nieces and nephews keep his heart full for now as family has always been important to him.

Austin joined the One Iowa LGBTQ Leadership Institute to be educated and understand while simultaneously applying what he learns within his own leadership. He aspires to become a fearless LGBTQ role model that he needed while growing up in a small Iowa town.
