Welcome to the 2020 Virtual LGBTQ Workplace Culture Summit! The virtual format of this annual event consists of four individual sessions. A diverse group of presenters will provide resources for employers and LGBTQ employees to cultivate safe and inclusive workplaces. Employers will learn more about the LGBTQ community, how to make more inclusive policies, and retain LGBTQ talent.
You can purchase tickets to all four events using the form below or individually by visiting the pages below. A full list of presenters will be released closer to the first session.
Corporate sponsorships are still available, starting at $250—email courtney@oneiowa.org for more information.
Session 1: LGBTQ 101 and Workplace Best Practices
Thursday, November 5th, 2-4 p.m.
Do you want to be an inclusive workplace, but not sure where to start? Join us for our LGBTQ 101 and Workplace Best Practices webinar. We will cover the basics: sexual orientation, gender identity, and LGBTQ identities, in addition to content related to discrimination and best practices for being LGBTQ inclusive in the workplace.
Sponsored by Kum and Go
Session 2: A 2020 Vision – It’s Time to SEE Us
Thursday, November 12th, 2-4 p.m.
Join Dominque Morgan, executive director of Black and Pink, for a session focused on #JEDI. Without #JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) in our work, we will always have a paradigm of the have and have nots. (I) have the information, (I) have the key to your liberation, you must listen to me because (I) know best. We know now more than ever that we must activate a cultural change in employment practices that removes the barriers to ownership of your success. Positioning leaders in the work who represent the population that they are servicing is a strong and effective first step that can lead to a wellness ecosystem that can be a route to individual liberation.

Session 3: COVID-19 Best Practices: A Panel Discussion
Thursday, December 3rd, 2-4 p.m.
In this session, panelists will discuss best practices for COVID-19 risk management and harm reduction while supporting their LGBTQ employees. Panelists come from a variety of backgrounds and risk levels, including the nonprofit, corporate, and service industries. Join us for a conversation on how to support your staff during uncertain times.
Sponsored by Principal Financial Group
Session 4: Building Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives with Intention
Thursday, December 10th, 2-4 p.m.
Want to build an effective Diversity and Inclusion committee or Employee Resource Group, but not sure where to start? Join us for a discussion on how to approach Diversity and Inclusion work to ensure its longevity and efficacy in your organization and how to center Diversity and Inclusion in your organization’s strategic priorities.
