One Iowa Selects Courtney Reyes as Interim Executive Director, Launches Search for New Leader
One Iowa has named its current director of development, Courtney Reyes, as the organization’s interim executive director. Reyes assumes this role effective immediately and will serve in this role until One Iowa hires a permanent replacement for current executive director Daniel Hoffman-Zinnel, who announced his resignation last week.
Reyes joined One Iowa as an office assistant in 2017. She quickly demonstrated her value to the growing organization and was promoted to director of development. In that role, Reyes has developed and sustained strong relationships with key donors and sponsors and helped One Iowa grow its revenue significantly. She also manages the organization’s stewardship and events coordinator positions across the state and frequently represents One Iowa on panels and various speaking engagements.
“Not only has Courtney played a key role in the expansion of One Iowa’s fundraising efforts, she is also familiar with the day-to-day operations of the organization and has demonstrated management experience,” One Iowa Board Chair Jenny Smith said. “For these reasons and many others, Courtney is the ideal choice as our interim executive director. The board is working closely with her and Daniel to ensure a smooth transition while we seek to hire a leader to fill this role on a permanent basis.”
An Iowa native, Reyes received a bachelor’s degree, focusing on Child, Adult and Family Services, from Iowa State University in 2006. Prior to her work at One Iowa, Reyes’ professional experience includes owning and operating a small business and serving as a case manager and counselor at a substance abuse treatment facility. She currently volunteers as a Youth Leadership Mentor with the Youth Leadership Initiative, a program of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute.
One Iowa has also launched its search for its next Executive Director. The job posting is available here.
