Although I feel that nothing can stop two people's expression of true love, marriage equality still must be pursued. To me, denying the simple, basic and elemental expression of love that marriage embodies is a failure of the human heart, a lack of compassion and integrity.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: Drew Riebhoff

For One Iowa super volunteer Drew Riebhoff, marriage equality is a "no-brainer".

"I don't get why it's an issue, it doesn't affect anyone but the two people in a relationship" Drew says. "Our country was founded on the ideals of life, liberty and happiness, and denying anyone those ideals is denying them as an American."

New volunteer rewarded by work

New One Iowa volunteer Jason Taylor didn't feel accepted in his small Iowa hometown. But once he started canvassing that feeling changed.

"After seeing the supporters in my community, it gave me strength and a sense of acceptance I never felt before I started volunteering," Jason said.

This summer, One Iowa sent canvassers to target districts across Iowa to talk with people about marriage equality.
